I’m big on making everything from scratch but Bisquick is so convenient. This is a recipe for shelf stable Bisquick replacement without any preservatives or additives. You can use it in the same proportions as Bisquick. Hope you enjoy!
Ingredients
- 5 cups Flour
- ¼ cup Baking Powder
- 2 tbs Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Shortening (You can substitute shortening for Butter but you will have to store it in the refrigerator.)
Instructions
- In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. *I like to do this step in my stand mixer. Store in an airtight container for up to 6 weeks.
