Ingredients
- ¾ cups Milk
- 2 ¼ teaspoons Active Dry Yeast (1 packet)
- ¼ cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 Egg Yolk
- ¼ Cup Butter
- 3 Cups All Purpose Flour
- ¾ Teaspoon Salt
- 2/3 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 ½ Tablespoons Cinnamon
- ¼ Cup Butter Softened
- 8 ounces Cream Cheese softened
- 6 Tablespoons Butter softened
- 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
- 2 TSP Vanilla
Instructions
- Heat Milk and Butter to 110 degrees or until butter is just melted. Do not boil. Mix Sugar, Milk mixture and yeast in the mixing bowl. Allow yeast to proof for 5 minutes. Add egg and egg yolk, Mix well. Sift flour and salt together and add to the wet mixture one cup at a time. Until a ball of dough is formed. Knead for 8 minutes in a stand mixer or 15 mins by hand. Place in a greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap in a warm place and allow the dough to double in size (about 1 hour 30 mins). Mix Brown sugar and cinnamon together. Roll out dough into a long rectangle. Spread butter on the rolled out dough and sprinkle the brown sugar/ cinnamon mixture on top. (Be sure to leave space on the end of the dough to secure the roll.) Roll the dough lengthwise and cut into 1 to 11/2 inch rolls. Place each roll in a parchment-lined pan and cover with plastic wrap. Allow the rolls to rise for 15 minutes. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until rolls are lightly browned. Beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Ice rolls while they are hot out of the oven.
