The Seeds vs. The Tree

I had a dream a little over 6 years ago and it was very powerful.

In the dream my son and I was standing in a line at church. The line was very long and we had been waiting for hours. We were waiting to receive seeds to plant a tree. After waiting what seemed to be forever, we finally made it to the usher that was handing out the seeds. I reached out my hand to receive our packet of seeds and the usher denied me. She said that my son was too old and there weren’t enough packets to include the bigger kids. I explained to her that we had been waiting for hours and she sent us away.

We were very upset after waiting such a long time.  We began walking away and an older gentleman (appeared to be a grandfather) stopped me and asked what was wrong. I told the grandfather what happened. He took me by the hand and began to lead me down a grassy hill. This was the most beautiful grass I had ever seen! When we reached the bottom of the hill there was a beautiful tree standing alone. The grandfather said, “Look at this tree. Do you remember planting seeds before your son was born?” I replied, “No.” He then said, “God has already provided you with everything you need. Look, you already have what they’re trying to get.” He then bent down and scooped up a handful of seeds. He held his hand in front of my face and said, “Here, take these seeds. But why are you worried about seeds when God has already given you the tree?”

I remember that dream as if it happened last night. God has already given us what we need to go to the next level. We have to stop looking at the surface and begin to see what’s deeper. Life may not be what we have planned, but we have been equipped to turn our perspective situations around.

Proverbs 18:16 states, “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.”

Let’s go forward and use our gifts to make room for us in everything we do. Don’t focus on the seeds; God has already given you the tree. Be encouraged.
