I'm making a family favorite today, Homemade Calzones.
- Marinara Sauce
- Pizza Toppings of your choice
- 2 1/4 cups Flour (I used bread flour but you can use all purpose)
- 1 packet Fleischman's Pizza Yeast
- 1 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
- 3/4 teaspoons Salt
- 1 cup Water (warm)
- 3 tablespoons Olive Oil
||Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. |
||Combine 1 cup of flour, yeast, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Add water and oil. Mix until well blended (about one minute) |
||Gradually add, enough of the remaining flour until a soft dough ball is formed. The dough should be slightly sticky. |
||Knead on a floured surface until the dough is smooth and elastic (about 4 minutes) |
||Separate the dough into 4 sections. |
Flatten or roll out the dough into 6 inch circles.
||Fill with sauce toppings and cheese in the center of the circle. Fold the dough over and seal the edges by turning the bottom edge over the top. |
||Bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden. |
||I drizzle a little olive oil on the outside once it comes out and sprinkle with Italian seasoning and Garlic. |
